About GAWSF

The General Association of World Sports Federations (GAWSF) is a legally incorporated, non-profit international sports organisation founded in 2014. As an umbrella body for international, continental, and national sports federations and organisations, it champions the Olympic values of excellence, respect, and friendship, and actively promotes good governance, transparency, and ethical leadership across its membership. Through its network of over 350 member federations and partnerships with numerous international bodies, GAWSF facilitates global collaboration, resource-sharing, and strategic alignment, while supporting programmes in sport and education, youth development, and cultural integration.

 

Members

GAWSF currently comprises over 370 member federations at the international, continental, national, and district levels. We have also forged cooperation agreements with numerous international organisations, which now serve as our partners.

The GAWSF has established representative offices in China, Hungary, Italy, Kuwait, Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Macau. Our activities span the globe and include sports games, competitions, training programmes, forums, and a variety of other initiatives.

Our core value is to create a World Sports Center that promotes global peace through sports.

Our main goal is to foster friendships and sporting exchanges worldwide. We aim to be a leading authority in the sports industry and global sports development.

We seek to transform the sports development paradigm by prioritising sports culture. Our approach includes driving the sports economy, using sports education as a platform, preserving traditional sports, promoting sports for all, and leveraging modern sports as models.

The Statutes of the General Association of World Sports Federations (GAWSF) outline the fundamental principles, structure, and operational guidelines of the organisation. Designed to support the Olympic spirit and promote global sports development, these statutes define GAWSF’s mission, aims, membership criteria, and governance framework. They serve as a foundational document to guide the association’s activities and ensure effective collaboration among its member federations.

General Assembly & Committees

General Assembly

The General Assembly of GAWSF is the supreme governing body, bringing together representatives from member federations to make key decisions that shape the future of the organisation. This assembly convenes regularly to discuss important matters, including strategic direction, policy formulation, and the approval of initiatives aimed at promoting sports globally. Through collaborative dialogue and democratic voting, the General Assembly ensures that the voices of all members are heard, fostering unity and shared commitment to advancing the ideals of sportsmanship and cooperation in the international sports community.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee of GAWSF is responsible for the day-to-day operations and implementation of the decisions made by the General Assembly. Comprising elected members with expertise in various aspects of sports administration, this committee guides the organisation’s activities, oversees strategic initiatives, and ensures effective governance. By fostering collaboration among member federations, the Executive Committee plays a crucial role in advancing GAWSF’s mission to promote sports development and unity on a global scale. Their leadership and dedication are essential to the success and growth of the international sports community.

Marketing & Development Committee

The Marketing & Development Committee of GAWSF is focused on enhancing the organisation’s visibility and fostering growth within the sports sector. This committee develops strategic marketing initiatives, cultivates sponsorship opportunities, and implements outreach programs to engage a wider audience. By collaborating with member federations and stakeholders, the committee aims to drive the development of sports and promote innovative ideas that benefit athletes and communities. Through its efforts, the Marketing & Development Committee strives to create sustainable opportunities and elevate the profile of sports worldwide.

GAWSF Guandan Sports Committee and World Sports University Launch First International Guandan Referee Training Course

The GAWSF Guandan Sports Committee is dedicated to promoting and developing trick-taking card games, with a focus on Guandan.

Through international tournaments, standardized rules, and educational programs, the committee aims to enhance the game’s recognition, standards, and global participation. Collaborating with national and international organizations, the committee strive to create a vibrant global community of Guandan players and enthusiasts.

Traditional Wushu Committee

The Traditional Wushu Committee of GAWSF is dedicated to promoting the preservation, development, and internationalisation of traditional Chinese wushu. The Committee serves as a professional platform bringing together martial arts masters, scholars, practitioners, and organisations from around the world to strengthen global cooperation and cultural exchange through traditional martial arts.

Martial Arts Committee

The Martial Arts Committee of GAWSF offically established in 2022 is dedicated to promoting the rich traditions and diverse disciplines of martial arts worldwide. This committee focuses on fostering collaboration among various martial arts federations, organising competitions, and developing training programs that enhance skills and techniques. By advocating for the values of discipline, respect, and self-improvement inherent in martial arts, the committee aims to inspire participants of all ages and backgrounds. Through its efforts, the Martial Arts Committee strives to elevate the profile of martial arts in the global sports community and promote their positive impact on personal development and cultural exchange.

School Activities Committee

The School Activities Committee of GAWSF is committed to promoting sports and physical education in schools worldwide. This committee focuses on developing programs that encourage youth participation in various sports, fostering teamwork, discipline, and healthy lifestyles. By collaborating with educational institutions, we aim to create engaging sports initiatives that inspire students to embrace an active lifestyle and develop a lifelong passion for sports. Our goal is to cultivate the next generation of athletes and sports enthusiasts, making sports accessible and enjoyable for all young people.

Women Sport Committee

The Women Sport Committee of GAWSF is dedicated to promoting gender equality and empowering women in sports across the globe.
